Our story

Sweet Sugar Soul Food was created in loving memory of my mother and the heartfelt meals that gathered our family around the dinner table. Based in Chino Hills, California, we bring authentic, slow-cooked Southern comfort food and true hospitality to every gathering.

Rooted in Mississippi tradition

Our journey began in my grandmother's kitchen in Mississippi. Watching her and my mother cook taught me that real soul food takes time, love, and care. They prepared meals that could feed a crowd without cutting corners, treating every Sunday dinner like a festive occasion. We carry forward their legacy with slow-cooked classics like tender braised oxtails, seasoned buttermilk fried chicken, smothered pork chops, and crisp cornmeal-crusted catfish.

Food that feels like home

When your guests sit down to eat, we want the room to fill with effortless warmth and genuine connection. Our dishes are crafted to feel like a comforting hug, inviting everyone to relax, share stories, and celebrate fellowship. We believe great hospitality shines through the details: generous portions, time-tested recipes, and ensuring that no one ever leaves the table hungry.

Our promise to every host

Hosting a special event can be stressful, which is why our most important promise is complete peace of mind. When you trust us with your table, you can count on fresh, flavorful, and plentiful food served right on time. We take the pressure off your shoulders so you can stay out of the kitchen and savor every precious moment with your guests.

"Sweet Sugar Soul Food made our family celebration unforgettable. The oxtails and fried chicken tasted just like Mississippi home cooking, and having everything arrive hot and ready allowed me to truly enjoy the party."
